Default Who's In Control

It didn't matter how much we had prided ourselves in the way we were living before we end up in recovery, we couldn't ignore what the results were and the fact that it wasn't working. As newcomers to recovery it's hard for all of us to accept this that the whole way in which we were living was wrong, but we'll have to if we want to get over what has happened to us. Our problem has no power over us if we can learn not to cooperate with it. One of the ways we've all been cooperating is to only do what feels right to us, this is where the problem operates within us and we're allowing it to run the show when we do this. We've all done things that felt right, but we knew were wrong, but we went ahead and did them anyway. This is how the problem works: it gets us to do things that we know are wrong that feel right, this is when it is at it's best, and none of us are able to stop this on our own once we've started doing this. As long as we are doing this the problem is in control.
