The Goal
The goal is not to not drink again, but to learn how to live without having too. I thought a life that didn't include drinking would be boring, little did I know. Because of the life I have found through the steps of recovery my life is quite filled with all the things I thought I'd be missing out on, or didn't deserve without being able to drink normally. One day there might be a way of making it possible so that alcoholics can drink normally but that day hasn't happened yet. That's okay the life I found in the process of recovery makes it so I don't need to drink to live just as well, or better than those who drink normally. I would have not known that either or believed it without doing it. We don't need to drink to live, it's not the goal of life.
