Default Root It Out

Root It Out

Read Revelation 12:1 through 14:20

“You’re so stupid.” “You will never be able to do it.” “Don’t even try it; you fail at everything.” Whether the accusatory thoughts come from others or from within us, they are always negative, destructive, and discouraging. Regardless of how they come to us, they originate from one source, Satan, who is referred to as the “accuser of our brothers.” (Revelation 12:10).

We have the power to choose which voices we listen to. Taking the time to stop and clearly analyze a particular thought to determine where it is coming from can make a world of difference. There are only three possible sources: God, Satan, or our own memories, experiences, and imaginations. Once we acknowledge where a particular thought comes from, we can then choose to receive or to reject it. What a powerful decision. God’s Word tells us in no uncertain terms that the accuser has already been hurled down. We can choose to keep entertaining false, damaging thoughts, or we can determine to accept only truth, truth that lines up with what God says to and about us. The choice is ours. By doing so, we, too, can hurl the accuser down in our own personal lives and experience as well.

Prayer Suggestion: Help me, Holy Spirit, to refuse false accusations and fill my heart and mind with Your Word.
