Are We Preoccupied?
ARE WE PREOCCUPIED?
There are many times we walk right by someone we know without seeing them. There are other times when we miss our turn even when driving to a familiar place. There could be many reasons for these things but the most common reason is we are too preoccupied with us and what we want. We aren’t looking for that friend at the gym or we aren’t focusing on the turn to take to go home. Do we do that with God? Is there something right now He is wanting us to do and we are too preoccupied with us that we don’t see it? John 14:6 “Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’” (NLT) Dear Lord, help us to always be aware of Your presence. Show us how to remove preoccupations from our minds so we stay focused on Your word and what we are to do according to Your plans. We know we get distracted from the things of the world. Even the things in our minds distract us. Help us today to read and remember Your word all day long so we can do what You have called us to do and not miss opportunities to serve You and help others. In Jesus’ name. Amen. When there is so many things taking up rooms in our minds, there is no room for God. When we are wrapped up in our worries and our wants, we can’t see what God is wanting us to do. We will miss out on opportunities around if we are seeking God’s guidance in all we do. When we are preoccupied with work or making money, we are going to miss what God has called us to do. When we have too much on our minds and focusing on the world, we can’t see Jesus. Matthew 6:33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (NLT) Focus: Staying focused on God and what He wants us to do will help us see opportunities to help others. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...log_id=5860022
