Change surrounds us. It lies within us, too. The trees in the yard have changed. They've grown taller. Their leaves die and scatter on the ground in the fall. We don't resemble our baby pictures much anymore, either. Like trees, we've grown up. As babies, we couldn't walk. But we learned to run, ride bikes, and go out alone to movies and parties. Some changes we don't notice while they're going on. The snow melts; the birds fly south; our hair grows a little every day. Other changes startle us. A best friend moves away. Perhaps a favorite grandparent dies. These changes we wish hadn't happened, and we have to remember that change is as natural as breathing. We can't keep it from happening, but we can trust that change never means to harm us. It's a sign we're growing up.
Love the quote. How many times have we had change in our life and we went kicking and screaming all the way, instead of accepting it. If things are to change, we want them on our own time table.

The slogan says, "This too shall pass." This means the good and the not so good moments in our life. A sponsee told me she was angry at God. I told her, "That is okay, He has broad shoulders." His Love is unconditional. As they say, "He never gives us more than we can handle!" Sometimes, He has more faith in me than I have in Him. Because if I am doubting myself, I am doubting my God and not believing that He will give me what I NEED!

How many times we prayed and didn't get the answer we wanted or felt we needed and deserved; only to find that our God's plan was better for us. We get caught up in Self and figure God should hear OUR plan for our life and do what we THINK He should give us. You are God, You can do this! That is why we need to pray for a change in our attitude to experience spiritual change in our life.

Al-Anon isn't about the alcoholic/addict. It is about you and your spiritual bankruptcy, and as the slogan says, "Let It Begin With Me!" It isn't about fixing the alcoholic, we don't have the power. All we can do is pray for them, what we can do is pray for what we need to make changes in our own life. When we surrender to the program, work the 12 Steps, we can find peace and serenity. I found that I need Al-Anon for my emotional sobriety.
