Life or Death

For all of us this is a life or death decision we're all making when it comes to us joining recovery but rarely do any of us think of it in that way. There are many different ways to die in this lifetime and we who have this problem have experienced many of them. First and foremost was the emotional death that all of us have had to go through with having this problem which led all of us to the spiritual abyss that none of us could get ourselves out of, and finally the physical death that comes from having this problem that we all feared and knew was coming much sooner than any of us would have like it to have. What all of us are really choosing by us coming into recovery is to live again because we're already dead in many ways and are just waiting to die. There was a time when nothing could be done about the inevitable death that comes from having this problem of ours, but today there is recovery and it works to stop this death that comes from having this problem but only if we choose it for ourselves. All of us have got to choose to want to live again and all of us can by choosing to be in recovery, and if we don't all of us are going to surely die in more ways than one because of us having this problem. Choose well this is the single biggest decision in our life time that we'll ever make.
