Someday
I tell you…now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2 I have a friend who seems to take pleasure in the simplest things; budding trees, trinkets, a chat with the checkout girl at the supermarket. Yet I know that her life has had unhappiness. Early widowhood, financial problems, disappointing children. "How do you manage to be so cheerful?" I asked her. "I used to wait for someday," was her reply. "You know, someday I would take a trip, someday I’d have more money, someday a new love would come my way… "But someday never came. Now I say to myself, This day is as good as any may ever be. I will live it to its fullest." Do you want to take a trip someday? Take a walk today. Have finances got you down? Treat yourself to a pair of earrings, a tie clip. And let’s get some loving by giving some away. This day, let’s toss out all our somedays. by Marilyn Moore Jensen
