Joy
Joy
“For ye shall go out with Joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12 (KJV) Joy: what a legacy of the Christian walk! There was a time when all we knew was pain and heartache. We were filled with an emptiness that nothing could fill, but once Christ came into our lives and filled that void, the pain and heartache was replaced with joy! His joy is a joy that no one can take from us, not because we will never experience pain or sorrow again, because as long as we walk on this earth there will be those things, but because our circumstances no longer dictate our mental state. Joy comes from within, it is an overwhelming sense of satisfaction no matter the circumstances. It comes from knowing Jesus Christ as our Lord. It comes from knowing that we have freedom from the bondage of sin and death because we have tasted salvation. It comes from knowing we never have to walk this earth alone again. It comes from knowing we have been adopted by the God of the Universe. That is why when we experience His joy, we have peace. It is such a transforming thing that once we have experienced His joy, it seems even the mountains break forth into singing and the trees clap their hands. The void is gone, the emptiness is filled and there is joy evermore! Thank You for the legacy of joy! Thank You for replacing the pain and heartache with Your joy. Help us to know You more and to see how You are working in our lives so that we may experience more of Your joy. Let me join with all of creation in praising You! Amen Quiet Waters
