Keep your eyes on Jesus
It seems we lose control of our emotions the most when we take our eyes off of Jesus. Think about it. When was the last time we made a bad decision? When we lost focus of the right thing to do. When we lost focus of God. When we take our eyes off Jesus, we lose control because we then begin to think and do what we want or the world wants rather than what He wants. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, He will help us have self-control and do the right things. Hebrews 2:1b-2 “And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.” (NLT) Dear Lord, we come to You today and put our eyes on You. We focus on who You are and what You want us to do. We come to You and ask that You perfect our faith so we can run the race. Help us to keep our focus on You so we can live for You, help others and give You all the glory for the great things You have done. In Jesus’ name. Amen. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, He will help us have self-control and do the right things. Jesus has the ability to initiate and perfect our faith. How awesome is that? Keeping our eyes on Jesus requires we take our eyes off of the world. Self-control comes when we put our focus on God and rely on Him to guide us in the right direction. Want to make the right decisions and have self-control to do the right things? Then focus on God. Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (KJV) Focus: Keep your eyes on Jesus today and every day to help you have self-control. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...d=FRANCESLUCAS
