Real Peace
Real Peace Read Judges 5:1 through 6:40 Sharon sat in front of the unopened bills on her desk and felt the panic rising. Recently widowed, she was still waiting for the life insurance settlement. The loss of her husband had forced her to look for a job, and the one she found didn’t pay enough to cover her monthly bills. Now Sharon faced the added expenses from her husband’s medical and funeral costs. “God,” Sharon prayed, “I don’t know how to deal with this. You’re my only hope.” As she sat at her desk, continuing to pray, Sharon felt peace begin to quiet her panic. She knew God would take care of her. Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites (Judges 6:24). Gideon had not yet confronted the vast armies of Midian. He had not even gathered the men of Israel to prepare for battle. All of the difficulties of God’s mission still lay in front of him, but Gideon connected with God in faith. Challenge for Today: In your daily stress, stay focused on God’s presence and experience His peace. Quicklook: Judges 6:17–24

Went to a Meditation Meetings, they read from Steps 10, 11, and 12, and shared. They had 10 minutes of silence, candles burned and music played.
A woman who had over 30 years in recovery said, "I like coming here because life is so busy I seldom have time to meditate." I was shocked! How can you stay clean and sober without prayer and meditation. I am guilty of thinking of her as a dry drunk after hearing those words. Ironically, I later played bridge with her. She didn't change my mind. All I could do was pray for her, and thankfully she passed away sober. As Osho says, "We can meditate doing dishes." When I am in the moment and right with my God, I am at peace.
