Many of us do come into recovery because of a particular event that has occurred in our lives and as the upheaval from all of this event subsides we all begin to see and realize that there's been something else that has happened to all of us, that has caused all of us way more damage than any of us were even aware of at the time that this has happened. The catastrophic event that has happened in all of our lives often goes unnoticed by us and we're all unaware of how we've all been damaged by this event because of how subtly this has occurred for all of us. Some of us will have great difficulty being able to recognize and see this event, but this in itself never diminishes the far reaching impact that this has had on all of our lives. Recovery is a process that allows all of us to begin to understand what has happened to all of us before any of us even knew that it had. The response to this for all of us has been one in the same and is the reason we've all been brought together here in recovery where we help each other learn how we can get beyond what has happened so we all can begin to live our life the way they were meant for us to live before any of this had ever happened to all of us.
