Funny thing about pain and all the pain that we're all in is how we all perceive it. Sometimes the things we think are helping us are actually hurting us and causing all of us a lot of pain but because we're not willing to see things this way we all had to accept these things as being good for us while still knowing that they're hurting us. We all wanted out of this whole big mess we all found ourselves in by the time we got to Recovery and out of all that pain that we're all living in that had become part of all of our life's the only problem is that none of us know how we can do this. Recovery can show how to do this, and the first thing that it teaches all of us is that it's okay to stop hurting ourselves, and we all can begin to do this when we embrace being here in recovery. This will happen automatically if we can allow ourselves to be here and then try to do the things recovery tells us to do that we all think will somehow hurt us, but they never do. These things will always help us, and like nothing else ever can. It's only that we perceive that it will hurt us to do these things but it never does. Anyone who has done these things can attest to the fact that it has helped them even when they thought it wouldn't. The only way any of us will ever find this out is by doing them, and then we too will know that it doesn't hurt us like we all thought it would. It actually helps all of us out of all that pain that we're all in when we have done these things.
