The program of recovery doesn't come to any of us because things are going so well that none of us could stand it. We don't show up here on a winning streak, none of us decided one day to go check out the recovery meetings our town had to offer. We're driven into recovery by something, and we know this because none of this has anything to do with any of the plans we had for ourselves. Whatever those plans may have been, they didn't have anything to do with us being in recovery. This is how most of us find recovery, what we didn't know but could all sense, is that we were being thrown a life preserver as we were sinking fast, and we're the only ones that can decide if we're going to grasp on it or not, understanding that if we don't we are going down, somehow we all knew that too. Recovery comes to us when we need it the most, and at the right time, but rarely do any of us think so, or think that we're ready for it, but this could be our one and only chance to get it, and know this, if you choose recovery you're going to be in for the ride of your life, recovery is not like anything else we have ever known.
