One of the first things we're relieved of in recovery is all our self-doubt that's common among those of us with this problem. It seems to stem from the different way we as a group tend to view things. Rarely is this seen as a gift to be able to see things differently and usually when it's pointed out the way we see things is not like everyone else that's when self-doubt creeps in and we start to wonder if there's something wrong with us. All of this is solved after we join recovery making it part of our life. It's there in recovery where we'll find out that the way in which we see things is not that much different from everyone else who's in recovery and then we'll finally get that sense of belonging that all our self-doubt had kept us from having, what a relief !
