My head would have exploded had I found out all that was wrong with me when I started my recovery. My first clue that there was more wrong with me than just drinking and drugging was when I heard "drinking is but a symptom" We can only handle what we're capable of handling. This is a limitation that is good for us. As we start to become more able to, more will be revealed. It is then that we are ready and able to do what we need to do to continue with our recovery. This never ending process we all begin when we start our recovery. We do plateau from time to time, but we'll always have the need for improvement, and to seek that out. It is by doing this that we are able to keep our illness at bay. Remember we do recover, but "We Are Not Cured"
