What kind of Bread are you Eating?
Matthew 4:4 "It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." There are many types of bread the natural man or woman will feed upon. They can eat daily the bread of sorrows in Psalm 127:2 by continuing to live in past experiences. They may have had a troubled childhood that causes them much sorrow, but feeding on sorrows only makes one unhappy every day of their life. There is a bread of wickedness one can feed upon every day in Proverbs 4:17. Their imagination is on evil thoughts all day long. They only think of getting even with someone. This is their bread that they feed upon. They have no peace. Another type of bread one can feed upon is the bread of deceit. They have learned how to make a lie. To them a lie becomes some sort of a truth, but in reality they have been deceitful by not telling the truth in Proverbs 20:17. Truth is, Christ Jesus is the living bread that born-again Christians feed upon. Unconditional love is one type of bread. Grace is another. Forgiveness is still another type of bread. Mercy is also bread for the soul and spirit. Feeding on the right bread leads us to right thinking. When our thinking is right we have great peace. Our nerves are not short; we don't pace the floor at night. Our hearts are not filled with worry. We learn to be content in Christ Jesus. Bible References (KJV) Psalm 127:2 "It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep." Proverbs 4:17 "For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence." Proverbs 20:17 "Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel."
