N is for New. Remember what it was like when you came into recovery. Give back what was freely given to you. Share how the program worked for you. H.O.W. Honesty, Open Minded, and Willing, three things we need to stay sober one day at a time. I didn't get them in order and some I got in part, and in some areas, it took a while to get the self-honesty I need to allow myself to change, heal, and grow. I had to open my mind to other peoples ideas, as they say, "Take the message, but leave the name of the messenger, in the rooms of recovery. Willing to go to any length to maintain my sobriety. Using was not an option, so please people, tell me how it worked for you.

N is for No. It is not for us to reason why. Go with the flow and allow your God to work through you.

Say No to drugs and alcohol!

Say Yes to recovery!

It is good to be alive and sober today!

N is for Nosey. Don't be a gossip. Don't stick your knows into what is not your business. What other people think of you is none of your business and visa versa. Don't take it personal, Don't forget to take your QTIP with you.

N is for Need. My God supplies my needs. I must remember to be grateful.

N is for not Isolating. Isolation blocks us from our Higher Power. We need to surround ourselves with others. No more keeping to ourselves and keeping what is bothering us and not sharing it. When you go to a meeting of 10 people, dump your stuff, you only have 1/10 to take home.

There is a group here that has a chair in the middle of the discussion circle. On it there is a jar with a pencil and a paper ribbon, that they call the sh*t fairy. They say lay all your stuff on the fairy and she will clean it up ,

N is for NEW. The newcomer is the most important person in a room. What I need to remember that the old timers can hurt too. I just try to remember each day is a new beginning. My day had two beginnings that ended up with me having to go back to my bed. Don't forget you are worthy of recovery. You are special in God's Eyes and mine.

N is for Nothing. Nothing can stand between me and my God. Nothing will happen if I stay with my program. I will be free from the disease of addiction. Anything that I allow to come between my God and I, becomes my god in today.

N is for Name. We know each other by first name only. We don't break another person's anonymity. Take the message, but leave the messenger's name behind.

N is for "No!" No is a complete sentence. You don't have to justify yourself. You don't have to explain why you are saying "No" or your reason for doing so. "No!" means "No!" Transform your life into a beautiful thing.
