Default What is God’s way?

But what happens when we live God's way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. (Galatians 5:22-23 — The Message)

What is God’s way? Love. Love is God’s way -- unconditional, undeserved love and acceptance. Living by love brings compassion, a zest for life, peace, and a belief that there is good to be found in everyone. God sees it. Why else would He die for someone who was hopeless and beyond help? He wouldn’t. He sees the person He created, not what they have become. We need to see each other through God’s eyes, see the potential, and see the person God created, not the person they have become as a result of life’s attacks and wounds. God looks past those things and sees what He saw before you were ever in the womb. He sees His child, His beloved, and His unique reflection of His person to the world. When we start living from love, living for others and not just for ourselves, we will also find we will be at peace.

So why does living this way bring about these things? Because we are living the way we were meant to live, we are fulfilling our reason for being.

Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,

Pete Reinbold
