Hi everyone, my name is Cass. I'm new and just wanted to say hi! I've tried to stop drinking on my own and it never seems to last very long. Thought I'd give this a try and hope for the best!

Hi Cass,
Welcome to our community. My name is Mary and I wanted to personally welcome you to our community. We are a group of people that support and encourage each other in recovery.

I would like to offer a few suggestions:
Begin each day by reading the Daily Recovery Readings:
http://www.bluidkiti.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2
This is a good way to start your daily grounded in recovery.
Please browse our Daily Check-in forum, many of us post here daily and you can start your own thread.
http://www.bluidkiti.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8
Read through some of them and you can get to know us and where we are with our recovery. You can start one of your own.....as you will see, many of us have been journaling here for some time.

There is tons of information here at the site. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any help navigating the site or have specific issues you would like help with.
Again, welcome!!

Welcome Lily, a lot of recovery material here. To get sober, I needed to get honest with myself, surrender to the program that I could identify with, and accept my addiction as a disease. I used people, places, and things to make me feel better and I found out that recovery begins with me. I had to open my mind to new ideas and concept and willing to go to any length to stay sober.
