Root Of Our Troubles
At the start of our new way of living in recovery we will discover many things about ourselves, maybe some of the things we were aware of but didn't quite understand about ourselves. Many are shocked to learn the self centeredness we had become to learn to rely on was at the root of the troubles we were now facing. It like so many of our other troubles we've discover about ourselves we now have to learn how to live with them. This takes much effort on our behalf, but it's always worth it because the rewards for doing so are endless, as long as we just keep trying. Trial and error, and lots of time is what we'll need to teach us to stop being so dependent upon ourselves. After a while of doing this we open up to this whole new world of interacting with others, we'll be glad to finally have solved that problem which has plagued so many of us for so long. So much so that we feel indebted and compelled to do the same thing for others that had been done for us.
