Brief Encounters
BRIEF ENCOUNTERS
We tend to treat people differently. We may not realize it. We may not do it on purpose. We just do. Think about those who we encounter briefly. We may smile and put on our best face. We may nod and have polite conversation. Or we may get upset with their rudeness or abruptness and decide right away we don’t like them for whatever reason. Then there are those we are with for a short time in life and those we will know all our lives. How do we treat people? Do we have a forgiving attitude toward all people or are we thinking only of ourselves all throughout our life? How we react to others shows what is in our heart. Psalm 39:4 “LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered—how fleeting my life is.” (NLT) Dear Lord, remind us daily how brief our time is on earth. Help us to stay calm. Help us to forgive. Help us to let things go. We want to focus on serving You and helping others rather than treating people unfairly. Help us to show love to others. Help us to look for ways to be kind. Keep us aware of how we treat each person we encounter every day. We want to have a forgiving attitude as You have called us to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen. We should make a conscious effort to treat all people with forgiveness, kindness and love. We are to forgive those we encounter briefly, those we know only for a season and those we know for a lifetime. Life is too short to hold grudges and be unforgiving. We lose so much time talking about others and not speaking to them. Let’s work on better communication skills today. Our time on earth is brief. We should do all we can to serve God every day and show forgiveness to others. Job 8:9b “Our days on earth are as fleeting as a shadow.” (NLT) Focus: We don’t know when our time on earth will end. So let’s make the most of today. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...log_id=5952087
