Affirmative Prayer
Spirit guides me in prayer.

The late Unity minister Mary Kupferle wrote, “If you feel inadequate about praying, be still and obedient and the Spirit within will guide you.”

Affirmative prayer—connecting with the spirit of God within and asserting positive outcomes—reflects my faith in that higher power. At any time I can turn within, dwell in my heart for a few moments, and be refreshed. Even in the midst of a busy office or a noisy marketplace, I can be still and know that I am one with God. I let the chatter in my mind surrender to stillness and silence. I know Spirit within guides me into my heart where Christ’s presence waits for me with joy and gladness. I give way to Spirit and I am well.

Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise.—Psalm 66:1-2
