Default Lighten Our Load

LIGHTEN OUR LOAD

When we carry a heavy bag around for a while, it gets burdensome. When we have to tote it all day long, we become weary. When we take it with us for weeks or months, we begin to feel extra pains in our bodies. Once we decide to lighten our load, however, we feel less burdened and seem to have a little more freedom to move and do things we couldn’t do before. Jesus wants to lighten our load by taking our burdens from us and setting us free. All it takes is for us to let go and let Him carry our burdens and forgive us of our sins.

Matthew 11:28 “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know you will remove our burdens if we will only give them to You. We know You will take away the worry, the pain and the sorrow. Thank You, Lord, for all You do. We give You our burdens today so You can help us focus on doing Your will and not focus on the burdens we are trying to carry. Help us to tell others of Your amazing love and how You can carry their burdens as well. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

If we are doing something and trying to carry our burdens while doing it, we aren’t going to do it very well.

God can lighten our load if we will give our burdens to Him.

Once we make the decision to turn our lives over to God, we will feel so much peace.

When we turn everything over to God, He will remove our heavy burdens.

It is possible for us to give all our burdens to God. He wants and expects us to.

God wants to remove our burdens – not give us more.

Matthew 11:30 “For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (NLT)

Focus: Write down what things you have been carrying around for so many years and decide today to give them to God.

No matter who the God of your understanding is, know that He is there for you. We take on so much which is not ours and we hang onto stuff that we should have let go a long time ago. The past is gone, and when we keep the link to it, it keeps us grounded there instead of allowing us the freedom of living in today.
