Together
It's so very easy because of our illness to think, believe and to say, that we are all F*ck ups. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is our attempt to explain that which we can't understand about ourselves. It's not true and it's wrong. When I began recovery was the first time in my life I had ever heard that I had an illness, and that I was sick trying to get well, not bad trying to be good, and more importantly, all of those in recovery had this understanding about themselves. Together we are able to start to grasp this idea, by ourselves we never do. We are human like everyone else and as humans we all have good and bad. The illness forces us to focus on the bad relentlessly, until we can't stand it any more. Then we reach a jumping off spot, without help It is too much for us
