Default Start new today!

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:1

Over the next week, the gyms are going to become unbearably packed as people rush to kick off their New Year’s resolutions. This enthusiasm will last about 4-6 weeks, and then things will get back to normal as those people decide to give up on those resolutions they were so excited about just a few weeks before.

In the Christian life, many people tend to lose their motivation as well. They’ve had enough with their old lives and hanging onto their hurts and habits of the past, so they decide to really pursue Christ. Then just a few weeks later, they find themselves in the same old patterns as before.

But as you seek a new start, where can you find the divine, determined motivation you need to really take your walk with Christ to the next level? Well, there’s no magic pill you can take or mantra to recite that can replace simply staying committed to what’s important.

Persistence is nothing more than starting again every day. So don’t feel discouraged if you’ve tried to start again and failed. Every day is a new day; treat it as so. Don’t be discouraged by your past failures. Start new today!

DON’T BE DISCOURAGED BY YOUR FAILURES. STAY COMMITTED TO YOUR NEW LIFE BY SIMPLY STARTING AFRESH EVERY DAY!

As you know, my favourite saying is "Each day is a new beginning..." Each day I leave my old thoughts, behaviours, beliefs, etc. in the past and open myself to new things in today. New awareness, perception, acceptance, and all the gifts that recovery bring me in today. As I like to say, "God is as He reveals Himself to me in today. I can't rely on old tapes, this is a one day at a time program. I pray for the enlightenment that I need in today. I don't have to fight for it, it just is. It is there for me to discover, practice, apply to my life, and hopefully share with others. What is goodness if I keep it all to myself? If I load up on stuff, I become overwhelmed, and get lost and I can't find myself or the new direction that is available to me each day.
