Impossibilities

God makes the impossible to be possible for us, not so much by changing what goes on outside of ourselves, but by helping us to change what goes on within. Strength to do what seems impossible comes from the God for whom all things are possible. It is the Spirit of God within us that tells us what is ultimately possible for us. In quiet reflection and trust we come to know what God wants us to do and to believe that he will work with us as we do it. Trusting in him, we receive the strength to do what needs to be done.

Difficult things often become impossible when we try to accomplish them by ourselves. Perhaps our own experience teaches us that those who try to manage their lives by themselves become the sources of their own failures.

My own false thinking creates my imagined impossibilities, Lord, but the irony is that your strength is already within me, ready to help me if I accept it. Increase my awareness of your love and presence in my life.
