What We Think, Say and Do
What We Think, Say and Do
All day long, we have thoughts, we say words, we take action. Sometimes we think, say and do the wrong things. Sometimes we think, say and do the right things. However, we do have control over what we think, say and do. It’s our choice. It’s our decision. When we focus on God, He can help us to think, say and do the things that are pleasing to Him. He can help us think, say and do what will build others up and glorify His name. Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” (NLT) Dear Lord, we need help every day. Actually, we need help every moment. Our tendencies are to think negatively. Our tendencies are to be hard on ourselves and others. Our tendencies are to say things that we shouldn’t and sometimes take the wrong actions. Help us today, Lord, to remember each moment to live for You. Give us the strength, the courage and the desire to do only Your will. In Jesus name. Amen. When we fix our minds on God, we will have better thoughts. Philippians 4:8 “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (NLT) When we decide to stop copying the behavior of the world, God can change us to who He created us to be. Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (NLT) The words we say to others should be loving and kind – never bitter or rude. Proverbs 16::24 “Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” (NLT) Focus today: Let’s be sure what we do, what we say and what we think are pleasing to God – all day long. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...d=FRANCESLUCAS |
