Default Focus On Today

FOCUS ON TODAY

Sometimes we’re uncertain. Sometimes we’re unclear. Sometimes we’re unsure. However, when we focus on God, He will remove the uncertainty, the cloudiness and the hesitancy so we can truly know and feel that He is in control. When we decide to only focus on today and stop worrying about tomorrow, we are deciding to give everything else to God. We are deciding to live in the moment for God. We are deciding to grow in wisdom knowing life is short and we should live in the now and live only for Him.

James 4:14 “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, how do we know what our lives will be like tomorrow? How can we plan ahead for things when we don’t even know for sure what tomorrow will bring? We can’t effectively plan unless we decide to follow Your lead. We can’t effectively plan unless we decide to give You our day. We can’t effectively plan unless we grow a relationship with You. Lord, take our day and make it worth Your while. We leave the planning up to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Life is short. When we realize that, we will make better use of every day.

Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” (NLT)

Our plans are not our plans because our lives are not our lives when we decide to give them up for God.

We don’t know what our lives will be like tomorrow. All we have is today so let’s use it wisely and take time to be good, love others and help others.

So much time is wasted on planning our days when we leave God out of our plans.

Proverbs 16:9 “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” (NLT)

Focus: We should spend today as if it is our last – forgetting the past and focusing only the present – doing good for others.
