Being Completely Honest

When we finally want to start our recovery when we're all finally really serious about wanting to be here we will then all ask what needs to be done so we can stay here, and the answer to this is for all of us is to begin to get honest with ourselves about what's been going on with us and in our life. This is where we all begin and is the founding foundation of the process of recovery everything else is based on how well we can all do this. If we can't be honest with ourselves then none of this is going to work for any of us who try. This has been proven over and over by thousands of us, that it just doesn't work any other way when it comes to all of us. Only those of us who are willing to admit to being completely defeated can rise up for a victory; the rest of us can go on fighting as long as any of us would like to but there's never any victory in doing so which also has been proven over and over. Maybe every now and then there will be one or two of us who can do this without being completely honest with ourselves, but the rest of us will die trying to do this, and that's been proven over and over by all of those who have died because of not being able to be honest with themselves. All of this is for not and it's not really necessary today for any of us. All we have to do is simply be completely honest with ourselves about what we all already know to be true for any of us to begin our recovery.

Thank you roverl0616,

I am new to the site. I have tried to stop many times, wanted to stop hundreds of time. Of course it has taken another mistake to get me here.

But I really want to quit, but I very scared that overtime, I will fail back into the same mistakes.

I know the saying is one day at time but over time I have gotten lazy in the past. Both with drinking and how strong my relationship with God.

I got luke warm and paid the price.
