As Sick As We Want To Be
 

There is a solution for all of us and for all of the different kinds of problems we bring with us into recovery, and all of us wanting this solution will be the biggest obstacle for all of us after we all get here to recovery. One of the hardest things to understand about recovery is not all of us get well, at least not right away or all at once, and for some of us we don't even want to get well at the beginning. We're all allowed to be as sick as we want to be. and some of us drag our feet for a long time before we're even ready to begin to want to get well. In recovery all of us can do it at our own pace, and what works for all of us will be different, because there's no prescribed timeline for any of us to follow. What takes the place of this is how long each of us will be able to tolerate our own thinking and actions, and this will become harder and harder to do for all of us the further we go along in our recovery., and when we're ready, and want to change these two things about ourselves, at least we'll all know what the steps are that we can take so we can become well.
